Copy of the invitation inviting the public to a reception honoring Bailey Howell, "Cool Papa" Bell, and Jerry Rice, three nationally acclaimed sportsmen who consdered Starkville their home, and showcasing an exhibit honoring these distinguished athletes. James Thomas "Cool Papa" Bell was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. Bailey Howell was the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Recipient in 1997. Jerry Rice was tapped for the Pro Football National Hall of Fame in 2010.
