On Display Through April 23

The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum is proud to host the Southern Fiber Artists’ “Mississippi Quilt Challenge” exhibition, a vibrant traveling showcase of creativity from across the state.

This special exhibit features more than 100 Mississippi-themed art quilt panels, each measuring approximately 16 by 24 inches. Rather than full quilts, these individual pieces offer a close-up look at the artistry, detail, and storytelling that define contemporary fiber art.

Visitors will discover a wide range of works—both collaborative and individual—depicting Mississippi’s landscapes, culture, and landmarks. From familiar scenes to imaginative interpretations, each panel reflects a unique perspective on life in Mississippi.

As part of a statewide tour continuing through 2025, this exhibit brings together artists from across Mississippi, celebrating both tradition and innovation in quilting.
